# Dispatch — Field audio, handled privately

Dispatch is a privacy-first, local-first iOS field audio recorder for reporters,
researchers, creators, and field teams. It records interviews, organizes source
audio, transcribes locally, and shares finished packages without losing control
of the material.

## Workflow

1. **Record** — capture audio with live levels, markers, context, and
   interruption-aware behavior.
2. **Transcribe** — local transcription first, with language selection for mixed
   field interviews.
3. **Organize** — keep recordings, tags, notes, metadata, and exports tied to the
   source.
4. **Share** — create private packages when a controlled handoff matters more than
   a public link.

## Apple Watch remote control

When the phone is on a table catching the room and you are working the crowd,
control the session from your Apple Watch:

- Commands: **Start, Pause, Resume, Stop, and Add marker**.
- Live elapsed time and input level mirror to your wrist, so you always know it
  is still rolling.
- Reconnects and syncs the latest state the moment the watch wakes.

## Privacy

- On-device transcription is the privacy-preserving default.
- Encrypted private sync is manual, scoped, and separate from the local store.
- Consent guidance is advisory and is not legal advice.
- Cloud transcription and Pro features are explicit, optional upgrades.

## Private sharing

- Share URLs expire after 24 hours; cleanup removes old packages from storage.
- Signed HMAC tokens mean recipients cannot edit object paths, expiry, names, or
  package metadata.
- The storage bucket is never public, listed, or exposed through presigned URLs.
- Selected recordings export as a single ZIP package for review or handoff.
